Tour the Chateau and Gardens at Biltmore Estate

Completed in 1895, the 250-room home of George and Edith Vanderbilt, known as Biltmore House, is just one facet of this very popular tourist attraction that's mere steps from our Asheville, NC hotel. The large, private estate also features 75 acres of gorgeous gardens and a winery where you can take a tour and enjoy wine tastings. In addition, Biltmore Estate boasts restaurants, shops, and a multitude of outdoor recreational opportunities, such as hiking, biking, and horseback riding. You can even travel the sprawling 8,000-acre grounds via Segway.


Prices -

Adults: $60. Children (10-16): $30. Includes a self-guided Biltmore House & Gardens visit and guided winery tour and complimentary tasting.

Hours -

Admissions Gate is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Hours for specific attractions vary.

    You most certainly can. Included in the admission price is a self-guided tour of the largest home in America. Guides are stationed throughout to offer assistance. Depending on how fast you get around, the tour can take anywhere from 1.5 to 2 hours. For an additional fee, you can take the Guide Biltmore House Tour, Rooftop Tour, Behind-the-Scenes Guided Upstairs-Downstairs Tour, and the Premium Biltmore House Tour.
  • What kind of outdoor activities are there?

    There is no shortage of things to on the expansive grounds of Biltmore Estate. You can go for a scenic stroll through the gardens or take a hike on one of the many picturesque paths. Biking is another way to travel and tour at the same time. Get into the mindset of the era when the estate was built by taking a classic carriage ride. Water activities are also available and include stand-up paddle boarding, river float trips, and fly fishing.
